Faq’s

We are located at 2523 Woodson Road, Overland, MO 63114. We are between Midland and Lackland Roads.

Yes, we have a dress code. Proper attire depends on the style of dance and should be age-appropriate. Just like a sports team wears a uniform, in dance class, we feel like a team when we wear the same color. We want to feel unified and avoid comparisons among dancers. Please see the class attire handout for specific dress codes.

Hair should be worn away from the face, preferably in a ponytail or bun.

Yes, we sell all types of dance shoes and dancewear.

Parents can come inside the dance room to assist their children with getting settled as they walk in. However, parents do not stay in the dance class. As the year progresses, dancers enter the room on their own and prepare for class. Teachers need time with dancers to gain trust without the distraction of parents. Young dancers’ attention is easily diverted by what adults are doing instead of focusing on the dance instructor. You may watch through our viewing windows, and we will have a parent viewing day. Thank you for understanding.

All dancers develop and advance at different times and in various ways. In the spring, each child is evaluated for the level of class they should be enrolled in for the fall. New dancers are placed within their age level and move to the appropriate class as they progress.

Yes, for students who wish to pursue dance at a competitive level, NEP Dance offers the opportunity to join our competition team. Auditions are held in the summer.

Yes! The New Era Productions Dance Recital is one of the highlights of our year! Seeing our new and returning dancers at the start of the season is always a joy, but our most rewarding moments come during our annual June recital. Students are able to finally show their loved ones everything they’ve learned throughout the season. We also participate in community events and parades, and our competitive dancers perform in at least two regional competitions.

Our annual recital is held in June. We also have a holiday performance in December. All dancers participate in the recital and holiday performance.

NEP Dance has a $35 registration fee. This fee includes all administrative costs for your family, all paperwork and updates, and getting your dancer registered into our computer system. Please refer to the tuition handout to see price breakdowns. Special discounts are given for multiple children and/or classes and for setting up auto payments.

Please contact the studio by email or text to let us know your child will be absent due to illness or an emergency. Speak with the instructor or director if you know your child will be absent due to a planned activity or event. Tuition will not be refunded for missed classes.

We offer a variety of dance styles, including ballet, jazz, hip-hop, tap, tumbling, poms, lyrical and contemporary, and more. Check our class schedule for specific offerings.
